Before the revolution
-Exhausted land was often left unseeded after cultivation for the soil to refertilize
-Most farm tools were made of wood because metal tools were too expensive
-Farms were usually public shared by a village
-The main source of energy on the farm came from oxen which were sometimes unrealiable and unconvenienent
after the revolution
-It was later discovered that cultivation of clovers and other legumes can speed the process of fertilizing the soil
